New Attractions
Madison Trolley Company
The Madison Trolley Company is rolling out a fresh way to explore Madison with immersive, story-driven trolley tours through historic neighborhoods and tree-lined streets. This local, family-owned experience blends history, audiovisual storytelling and insider tips to create an experience you won’t forget. Plus, visitors can book private charters and party-style rides for special occasions.
New Art in Andrews Family Legacy
The Andrews Family Legacy exhibit, part of the permanent collection at the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center, was recently expanded with new pieces of art donated by the widow of Benny Andrews. Housed in a striking 1895 Romanesque Revival building that once operated as a segregated school for white students only, this exhibit brings powerful insight into what life was like being Black here in the rural, segregated South. Through art and storytelling, it chronicles the lives of “Dot Man” George Andrews, his wife Viola, and their sons Benny and Raymond, a noted artist and writer respectively.
Studio WISE Tours
Studio WISE now offers both walking and golf cart tours through Madison’s Historic District, to share local lore, historic evolutions and favorite stories behind the town’s past and present. Led by educator, author and local historian Sara Lynn Holbert, these engaging tours and custom experiences – including Taste of History (Foodie) tours! – bring Madison’s history to life in a fun, personal way.
French Clay Shooting Now at Burnt Pine Farm
Located just a short drive from Madison, Burnt Pine Farm is a premier hunting and clay shooting destination, where visitors may take advantage of select outdoorsman experiences through day passes. Burnt Pine Farm has recently introduced French clay shooting, known as FITASC (Fédération Internationale de Tir aux Armes Sportives de Chasse), a discipline that is quickly gaining popularity across the United States. Designed to simulate real-life hunting scenarios, FITASC features a variety of clay target presentations thrown from multiple machines, challenging shooters with changing angles, distances, and trajectories.
Whether you’re an experienced shooter or simply curious to try a new outdoor sport, FITASC at Burnt Pine Farm offers a distinctive way to test your skills in a beautiful, natural setting. It’s an ideal experience for visitors looking to step outside the ordinary and take their shot at a sport with international roots and growing appeal.
History Sidebars in Downtown Madison
Each year since 2021, the City of Madison’s Historic Preservation Commission has installed “History Sidebars” to the sidewalks in downtown Madison. These plaques help provide visitors with historical context about the area. They answer the questions often asked by residents and visitors alike. “How old is this building?” “Who built it?” “What kinds of businesses have been here in the past?” They’re often installed in May during Historic Preservation Month. In 2025, there were five new sidebars planned by the commission, in addition to five bonus sidebars funded by a generous donor.
In 2025, new sidebars were added to the following locations:

- 165 S. Main (Pennington/Creative Mark)

- Additional History Sidebars will be planned for select buildings along West Jefferson Street later in 2026, further expanding downtown’s walkable history experience.

Madison Celebrates America 250
In 2026, Madison and Morgan County invite you to be part of America’s 250th anniversary in a way only a small town can – through stories, special exhibits and genuine connection. Stroll Main Street beneath America 250 flags featuring “We the People” tags with QR codes to discover more. Visitors can uncover stories that reflect what the American experience has looked like for different peoples here over the past 250 years through special exhibits at local historic and cultural attractions, themed trolley and golf cart tours, and Fourth of July celebrations planned across Morgan county.
Madison Antiques & Fine Things at the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center
Following its successful 2025 debut, the revamped Madison Antiques Show & Sale continues in 2026 as Madison Antiques & Fine Things. Presented by the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center, the event features an exquisite collection of furniture, art, porcelain, jewelry, silver, rugs and more, alongside lectures and panels from distinguished artists, decorators and collectors. Join the reimagining of this signature event March 19–21, 2026, to celebrate craftsmanship, beauty and timeless treasures.
New Lodging
Coming Soon: Fairfield Inn
In early 2026, a new Fairfield Inn will be opening in Madison with a convenient location off the U.S. 441 Bypass near the new Georgia Sheriffs’ Association Headquarters and Marshall’s. This will be Madison’s first Marriott hotel and will include 84 rooms and a meeting space. The hotel will provide visitors with another convenient accommodation option, complementing our area’s charming inns, bed and breakfasts, and existing hotels.
New Places to Get Moving
Madison Greenway Trails
Discover the continually expanding Madison Greenway Trails throughout downtown Madison. In recent years the greenspace expanded to add the Preservation Path, Gateway Path, and Collegiate Path. Each of these paths extend from the Welcome Center and are accessible paths that cover 2.5 miles. Free maps with more detailed information are available inside the Welcome Center.
And Madison’s trail network is continuing to grow with exciting plans for future phases! The City of Madison plans to begin the Greenway trail at the Central of Georgia Depot and connect it to Round Bowl Springs Trail, Cemetery Loop, and Pritchard Loop.
Moxie Madison Pilates
Wellness-focused visitors will soon have a new way to move in Madison. Moxie Madison is bringing the celebrity-loved, fitness phenomenon of Pilates for the first time to Madison. Celebrate Seven for 1776: A Small-Town Adventure for America 250
